Welcome to the Amherst Ekklesia, a local church of the Ekklesia Catholica Vera—the True Universal Church. We are a community of Christians seeking to recover the simple, faithful, and undivided Christianity of the apostles. Rooted in Holy Scripture and guided by the witness of the early Church, we gather to worship the Father through Jesus Christ, in the fellowship and power of the Holy Spirit.
Our worship is centered upon the Word and the Table. We read the Scriptures, pray together, confess the ancient faith, receive the bread and cup of the Lord’s Supper, and encourage one another in the way of Christ. Our worship is reverent and liturgical without being distant or complicated. We believe the Church is not a building or religious institution, but the living Body of Christ—a covenant community in which people are known, burdens are shared, and faith is practiced through love, holiness, mercy, and service.
Whether you have followed Christ for many years, are searching for a deeper and more authentic Christian life, or are simply curious about the ancient apostolic faith, you are welcome to join us.
